Scarifying

HOW WE SCARIFY

FOR A LUSCIOUS LAWN

We manually remove thatch by a process called scarification, whether by machine or rake. Thatch will compact and restrict growth, so, for a luscious lawn, removing this dead matter is a must. Scarification also vertically cuts the grass, which encourages upwards growth.

Our Scarifiers are equipped with steel blades to cut out thatch and horizontal growing grass, this is also known as de-Hi surface.

SCARIFICATION REMOVES DEAD MATTER IN YOUR LAWN RESULTING IN A LISCIOUS LAWN.

SCARIFYING CAN BE CARRIED OUT AS LONG AS THE GROUND IS DRY BUT NOT FROSTY, IDEALLY BETWEEN FEBRUARY AND OCTOBER

WHAT HAPPENS

Lawn thatch is removed more effectively and easily by this cutting action and the result is a healthier lawn that allows the passage of air, nutrients and water easily into it.

You can take scarifying a step further by letting the Scarifier blades cut into the soil. This will open the soil surface and help us introduce new grass seed and correct growth into your lawn.

TOP QUALITY EQUIPMENT

The blades of a Scarifier cut sideways growing grass in a vertical motion rather than cross cutting, which happens when the grass is mowed. This action, just like pruning a bush or plant, causes extra shoots to grow resulting in thick lawn sward. Scarification is a good way of controlling some of the coarser or delicate weed grasses.
